Gumball: She wasn't even possessed when she ate this! Carrie: I'm getting paid double for this one. Felix: It's Gargaroth! Gumball: Fire 'em up. Nigel Brown: How much? Gumball: We'll take those two bags of candy in the corner over there.

Nigel Brown: Can you please explain to me what's going on? Gumball: We're here to get rid of Gargaroth the Devourer. Nigel Brown: What are you doing here? Gumball: Hm. Darwin: Okay, when do we start? Ghost Hunting Gumball: Hm. Gumball: Not even to get close to Carrie? If she's gonna eat all that candy, she'll need a body to possess. Alright, fine, it's because I'm greedy! But don't worry, there'll be plenty for you too! Darwin: Nothing can make me go along with this dishonest scam. I'm tired of having to wear a mask on Halloween, because people wouldn't give me candy if they knew if it was me. Darwin: No! I really am judgmental, 'cause what we're doing is wrong! Gumball: Eh, which part? The part where we pretend to summon Gargaroth and use Carrie's powers to scare people, the part where we pose as paranormal specialists to get rid of him, or the part where we get paid with everyone's trick-or-treat candy? Darwin: Every part! What is wrong with you?! Gumball: I'm tired, Darwin. Gumball: Okay, yeah, I'm gonna need more screaming and less judgmental staring in your performance. Gumball and Carrie: Gumball: Okay, I saw Principal Brown buying candy for the school store. Gumball: Good job, Carrie! This is gonna work. I'll give it a- AAAAAIE! Gumball: An A? Really? Lucy Simian: No, I meant: AAAH! Gumball: And scene. Gargaroth- Carmen: Can you please stop saying it?! Gumball: Did I say "Gargaroth?!" Lucy Simian: Yeah, that wasn't scary.

And believe me, Gargaroth is not a nice guy. The mere mention of Gargaroth would summon Gargaroth into our world. Gumball: That's right, "Gargaroth" is a name you should never say. Which is why you should never utter the words: Gargaroth the Devourer. Gumball: He was banished, and all mentions of his name forbade, for just speaking his name would be to invite him into our world. In his sorrow, the monster ate everything at the banquet table and every soul around it. But the princess, disgusted by the monster's appearance, left him at the altar. The king agreed, on the promise of no further sacrifice. Every year, the king of the Underworld sacrificed a soul for the creature to devour, until one year he demanded the hand of the king's daughter in marriage. Gumball: Legend tells of a terrible monster that dwells in the Underworld, so evil and ugly that words cannot describe it. Lucy Simian: Next! Gumball: For my show and tell, I have a Halloween story. Lucy Simian: C-minus then, go to the infirmary. T o b i a s: It's not a mask, I'm allergic to the face paint. I'm happy this show stepped its game up, and hopefully continues to do so in season 5.Show and Tell Idaho: Double, double toil and trouble Fire burn, and cauldron bubble Eye of newt and toe of frog Wool of bat and tongue of dog. It's a really neat addition to this show and if it gets expanded upon in the coming season, then I can say that the shift in tone and writing style that happened in the previous season is completely warranted.
THE AMAZING WORLD OF GUMBALL SEASON 5 EPISODE 8 THE SCAM HOW TO
Gumball knows how to tell a good story, and it's a hidden aspect I've seen in episodes like The Disaster, The Nest, and The Origins: Part Two. I kid you not, my #1 choice for this season is also my favorite Gumball episode, as like SpongeBob season 4, this season brought something with it: storytelling. However, I think that the best episodes here are some of the series' best. Then you have episodes like The Crew which are just boring and filled with so little anything that I simply end up snoozing throughout its runtime. Episodes like The Uploads or The Apprentice have that same generic, bad writing where a majority of the episode is just spent pointing out why what's happening on screen is completely dumb. Most land, but not all, because there are key episodes here that wouldn't feel out of place in season 3. Most episodes have reclaimed some of that absurdist vibe that was present in S1-2 and have actually funny jokes. This season is GOOD.Ī lot of the problems I had with season 3 aren't entirely gone, but they've been toned down a lot. After the lukewarm blandness that was season 3, I was expecting this show to take an even steadier decline in quality in the coming seasons, but I remembered that there is a rule of thumb in cartoons: Season 4s will always be good, and it's no different here. I'm kinda surprised at the number of episodes here I enjoyed.
